Thank you for giving us the ability to give to organizations that are close to our hearts. It means a lot to me to be able to do this. I decided to split my contribution to two charities.
The first charity is the Northwest Dog Project, based out of Oregon. They are a ‘non-profit dedicated to rescuing homeless, unwanted, neglected and abused dogs.’ It was suggested to me to follow them on Instagram by a vet who highly encourages adopting and not shopping. I’ve been thinking about adopting for a while now and this organization will be one of the first on my list when I’m ready. Watching the transformations some of these animals go through is stunning. If you want your day to be brightened by some precious doggos, you can follow them @nwdogproject.
The second charity I wanted to give to is Hilarity for Charity. If you haven’t already heard of it, it is Seth Rogen’s non-profit that is ‘dedicated to raising awareness, inspiring change, and accelerating the progress in Alzheimer’s care, research, and support through the engagement of millennials.’ This cause is really important to me because I’ve seen my family impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia with four close relatives now. It is extremely difficult watching a loved one go through this horrible disease, but for me it is just as hard watching those having to take on the role as a caregiver. What I really like about Hilarity for Charity is that they have a large focus on helping the caregivers and giving them the support and education they need to properly provide for those affected by the disease. Thanks again for this wonderful opportunity!
