Aaron’s Donation

This year, Melissa and I pooled our donation money and split it between three organizations.

A portion of the donation went to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society because I want to help end MS. MS is an auto-immune disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. The organization funds research, provides support and education, and promotes awareness for a world free of MS. We also donated to Shriners Hospitals for Children – Spokane. Melissa’s niece, Katelyn, had hip surgery when she was three years old through Shriners. She was in a hot pink cast that covered 75% of her body for 6 weeks. Shriners covered a majority of the surgery, provided a place for my sister and her husband to stay, and even reimbursed them for their gas expenses. Not only that, but they do a great job keeping the hospital bright and cheery, when most of the kids are dealing with some pretty scary stuff. The last portion went to 2nd Harvest. As we know through working with BitetoGo, 2nd Harvest has such a huge impact within the Spokane community. Throughout Eastern Washington and North Idaho, they’re feeding 55,000 people every week, which is a huge undertaking. Every dollar donated provides food for 5 meals. The donation was also matched by Safeco Insurance! Our donation was able to provide 1,500 meals!

Thank you so much to Nick and Tyler for giving us the opportunity to support these three causes that are near to our hearts during this holiday season!
